Do These Things 2 - 3 Months Before Vacation
- Check out Kennels -
If you don't already have a preferred pet care provider start checking out kennels or other pet care facilities if required.
Have you heard of FREE pet sitting?. It's for real
and you can learn more about it here.
- Medical Appointments -
Book medical and dental checkups and optometrist appointments early
enough to order prescription sunglasses and dive masks or have dental
work completed.
- Vaccinations -
Call your community health unit and inquire about vaccinations recommended for your intended travel areas.
Do this each time you go even if you've previously visited that destination. Vaccinations and safety guidelines can be changed due to breakouts and
contamination in an area.
- Aesthetician Appointments -
Laser and Aesthetic procedures sometimes require more than one appointment. If you plan to have
it done before you go, secure your appointment early.
- Find Maps -
Print or buy destination and route maps if traveling by road. Plot road
trips and alternative routes and learn about the places you'll travel
through ... and
any "must see" attractions along the way.
- Get Active -
Walk, swim, dance or whatever floats your boat. The better shape you're in the more you'll enjoy the
vacation. Exercise should be fun, there are thousands of ways to be active and lovin' it.
- Make Reservations -
If you haven't already done so you may want to make flight reservations, accommodation arrangements and
possibly reserve a table or seat at a special restaurant or event you'd like to attend.
Popular tours, events and restaurants can book up early so get your name in there if it's important to you.
- Travel Sized Products -
Start picking up those tiny tubes, bottles and pots of your favorite products as early as 3 months before vacation. Each store carries
different brands and varieties so start shopping around early for things like:
- Q-Tips
- Bandaids
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Gel
- Mousse
- Underarm
deodorant
- Hairspray
- Toothpaste
- Mouthwash
- Dental floss
- Makeup
remover
- Antibacterial hand gel
- Sewing kits
- Soap
- Wet wipes
- Lotion
- Baby oil
- And all kinds of other stuff sized just right for a two week trip. You'll love these little containers in the age of "every ounce counts" flying. They take up way less room and greatly lighten the load.
An important function in these days of tightened luggage restrictions.
